Dear Wrestler,
In and around Georgia, there are very limited opportunities for our incredible talent pool of wrestlers to excel and compete at the next level. Now, young student athletes, such as you, have a phenomenal new option for collegiate competition Kennesaw State University. KSU wrestling is the future of collegiate wrestling for not only the state of Georgia, but for the entire south. As a first year program, Kennesaw State University wrestling out scored dual opponents 611 to 333. We placed 3rd at the First Annual Avery Harvill Duals, 2nd at the Cavalier Duals, 1st at the Georgia State Collegiate Duals, 2nd at the Mercer Duals, and 2nd at the Seminole Open. Seven KSU wrestlers qualified for the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) National Tournament, including two conference finalists, with one moving on to become a Southeast Conference Champion. At the National Tournament, we had 3 All-Americans, one 8th place finish, one 4th place finish, and Kennesaw States first ever National Champion.
The Kennesaw State University wrestling family is intent on cultivating, not only collegiate wrestling excellence, but academic success and graduation as well. The coaching staff is focused on our young men and their overall development. Kennesaw State University has a great deal to offer its students. KSU is Georgias third largest university. As the fastest growing university, KSU already boasts almost 20,000 students. As a student at Kennesaw State, you would have over 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs from which to choose. Kennesaw State University wrestling, like most Division I programs is not fully funded, however, Georgia student athletes that stay in state for college have an advantage the HOPE (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) Scholarship. The HOPE is Georgias unique approach to assisting students with financial support. For more information regarding academics and admissions you can visit us at www.kennesaw.edu.
If you are motivated to succeed on and off the mat and want to be part of the foundation that could possibly bring Division I wrestling back to the state of Georgia, then Kennesaw State University is the place for you.
